Crithink
About
The analysis, evaluation, description, interpretation or enjoying a work of art of literary works pertains to Literary Criticism. Usually, it is also in the form of a critical essay, as well as in depth book reviews. The word criticism comes from the ancient Greek noun krites, meaning "judge" of literature. Also, criticism may examine a particular literary work, or may look at an author's writing as a whole, with that several basic questions can be drawn out. How broad is the field of inquiry, what are the possible connections with other disciplines such as philosophy and religion? How does it relate in the sphere of morality, of knowledge and learning. Above all, what significance does it have or possibly have in our lives. And why should people bother to study literary criticism? Isn't it enough for us to read the great works of literature, poetry, fiction and drama? But one thing is for sure, we need to appreciate literature for its beauty and its technical artistry. As easy as say, we need to read literature as literature without the interference of some "judge" telling us what to look for or how to read.
The primary intent of this book is to interpret such literary works with the use of various approaches discussed. Such as: Archetypal, Cultural Studies, Deconstruction, Feminism, Formalism, Histo-biographical, Moral Philosophical, Psychoanalytic, Queer Theory, Reader's response and Structuralism.
